Process … How it gets done

 

Step One

Initial Consultation • We will meet in your home to explore and determine your vision and style and to discuss your preferences and needs – what stays and what goes, flow and use of space, storage needs, re-purposing, better lighting, etc.

Prepare project documents • Prepared for your review

  • Project scope of work – list of alterations, installations, finishes, furnishings and accessories

  • Estimates – preliminary costs for design services, contractor scope of work, purchases and other planned changes (to be confirmed after final scope decisions and selections)

  • Schedule – preliminary project timelines (to be confirmed after contractors are selected)

Follow-up Meeting • We will meet again to confirm the scope of work, preliminary estimates and approximate timelines, and to review our agreement.

 

Step Two

Contractor Selection • We will work together to evaluate contractor proposals to help you make the final selection. This step will include

  • Preparation of detailed specifications for contractor work

  • Solicitation of contractor proposals

  • Meetings with contractors in your home to review the scope of work and discuss site conditions

  • I will also provide support in the administration of your agreements with the selected contractors

Style and Preferences • I will provide options for furniture, fixtures, and materials as applicable, and offer assistance in making selections that will suit your style and meet your standards of quality and price points.

Budget and Schedule • Will be updated and provided to you for approval.


 

Step Three

Quality of Work • The contractor work will be closely supervised to confirm it is within specifications and quality standards, and any follow-up with contractors will be undertaken, as needed.

Schedules • The progress of the work will be monitored to ensure timelines are on track and, if changes are needed, they will be coordinated with you and all service providers and suppliers.

Orders and Deliveries • All purchase orders for furniture, appliances, fixtures, and other accessories will be completed and deliveries will co-ordinated with you.

Ongoing • I will be in your home frequently to monitor progress and supervise deliveries and we will be touch by phone or email as often as needed.
